Sensational experience

I remember walking home from school and smelling my mother's 'suga' (pasta sauce) cooking from 3 doors down. A deeply comforting and rich scent of onions, garlic, red wine, tomatoes and shin beef cooking low and slow on the hob.  I'd run in the door so excited for dinner, grab the old wooden spoon on the spoon rest next to it and sneaking a taste - often burning the roof of my mouth in eagerness!
